Our customer had a problem: Each month several employees were busy a whole day. They needed to sort printouts from three different systems (pay slip, travel costs, assembly slip) and send each employee the correct printouts via postal service. Therefore we developed a solution which analyzes the PDF printouts from the three systems; extracts personnel number, organisational unit and employee type; corrects page numbers and layout; and outputs the PDF printouts sorted by employee. This way the printouts can be placed in envelopes and dispatched via postal service using an automated printing facility. So the necessary effort has been reduced from about 2-3 person days to one click and forwarding the PDF-files to the printing facility - i.e. a few minutes. Additionally privacy has increased - nobody can see even in passing the pay slips of his colleagues and superiors. Everything is automatically processed at the local computer.
